I found a rather frustrating bug and workaround in Avid Symphony 6. We recorded time code from the audio recorder to the audio track of a Canon 7D. We then AMA linked, transcoded and had Avid read the audio track timecode into Auxiliary 1. Then for the audio clips, we imported, took the source time code and copied it to Aux 1 of each clip. So I haven't even seen it yet, but just reading the overview of Avid's new Media Composer 5 announced at NAB, this thing sounds like it could be a real game changer in the communication between it and Final Cut Pro. Checked in to the fabulous Flamingo hotel which we really used to enjoy for the penquins in the outdoor habitat, but they checked out last year so it s not quite the same. Hello, This is my first attempt at a blog post, so be kind.... I just wanted to share a really cool experience I recently had using avid Liquid....for Broadcast use. Now Avid doesn't really show Broadcast on thir splash screen much to my dismay, so of course I try to have the application open before the client arrives and pray that it won't crash and make me restart. I wouldn't want my Broadcast clients seeing the wedding splash screen (I intend on changing the splash screen and posting how to do that in a later installment). So material was captured...
