You Are What You Eat

There is indeed a Food category here on the blog, so by golly I will make a food post.

If I am what I eat, then most days I consist of dark roast coffee, oat bran, a breaded turkey cutlet and not as much water as I should be having.

Indeed, the diet and exercise regimen of a video editor can be less than ideal.

Best case scenario:

Sunday evening I bread and cook enough turkey cutlets for the week, along with a pot of macaroni or multigrain rice with vegetable. This is then served to 4 or five plates, shrink wrapped, and stored in the fridge, so that I have lunch each day. This does not happen every week.

Worst case scenario:

I saw Walter Biscardi in HD!

To be specific, my cable system just added the HD feed of the Food Network. Walter handles the HD editing, color grading for Good Eats, among the most popular shows there. Walter also handles both HD and SD animations for Good Eats, among the most distinctive parts of the show.

Wally and I have the Red Sox postseason to thank. Okay, and to a much, much, much lesser extent, the Yankees, Cubs and Phillies.

The Red Sox were pioneers of local sports programming - among the very first to own their own cable network (New England Sports Network, NESN), the VERY first to build schedules of major pre-game and post-game coverage (usually an hour, often 90 minutes), as well as extensive original programming, ESPN-style studio newscasts, talk shows, documentaries, etc.

Lindeboom Beer!

OK, I found it. Yup, I found Lindeboom Beer in Amsterdam. I asked for it at nearly every restaurant I went to and no one had it. Heineken could be found EVERYWHERE. And one of my new favorites, BAVARIA, was in a few places, but Lindeboom beer was a rarity.

Was this due to the fact that it is a really good and rare beer? Maybe. I am not a beer connesieur, but when I DID find it, and buy one...it was pretty good!

Where did I find it? At a bar just a couple blocks from the Red Light District...and within sight of Central Station and the main street that leads to DAM Square. They had all sorts of signs indicating that they did, in fact, serve Lindeboom beer.

iPhone makes the cake...but Apple makes the battery

From Fake Steve Jobs, who remains the absolute best resource for Apple information, and by far the funniest blog on the web:

The nice folks at Sugarcat Cakes sent along this photo of their latest cake creation. They call it the Jesus Cake. Feeds a whole party of hungry geeks, but alas, you can't remove the battery.

FOODIE THREAD FOODIE THREAD FOODIE THREAD

Can't stand it anymore. Somebody's got to start a food thread. All these creatives, some of you must cook. And I'm guessing some of you eat too.

I've taken it upon myself to create a food questionnaire to get the topic going. But please feel free to post a cooking question, tip, or recipe here. I spent an entireĀ 4 minutes carefully putting this poll together, so please take some time to share your answers and input. You will be suprised at how much you learn about someone in a foodie poll.

Copy and paste with your answers:
