I went to another blog that explained the value of rubber keyboard covers for different programs. I thought that is a very novel idea, protection plus all the shortcut key labels. WRONG!!!!
As I did a search I find they are only made for Apple products. Why hasn't someone done this for PC's. It seems more and more editing programs are being built for PC's many of which don't even have an Apple counterpart.
No one has thought about creating keyboard covers for PC's? That seems really strange.

Keyboard Covers
It might be because Mac keyboards are so much more universal. Every mac comes with the same keyboard (more or less). Windows keyboards vary so much it would be hard to pick a keyboard that could be used for the standard.

I think you're absolutely right about this Aharon. I'm looking at my keyboard and my wife's, both made by Microsoft.
(BTW, even when I was a full-time Mac guy, I used Msoft mice and keyboards. That's pretty much all the hardware they make, but they make the best hardware in the business.)
Her keyboard is flat, but has one of those ergonomic curves in it. It's got 5 round buttons across the top (which is also curved), as well as one of those multimedia control centers -- play/pause/ stop, fwd, and rev, all in a little clump.
Mine is curved and has one of those ergonomic hills that breaks the two halves of the keys away from each other. (Astonishingly more comfortable, and I type more quickly too.) It has 13 buttons across the very top, shaped more like capsules than round buttons. There's a 14th button just below those for "favorites," plus a zoom wheel.
So yeah, not even close to standardized.
The way that we got around this at Avid was to supply one keyboard and one only with every turnkey system, with the original keys swapped out for color-coded keys marked with Avid's default keystrokes. You may have seen these for other apps as well. There sure as shootin' should be some for Premiere Pro. I haven't seen any though.
On my keyboard, even the keys are different sizes -- a little larger closer to the middle. Again, truly ergonomic, but not helpful for customizing keys.
