Am i the only one....

...who gets really bugged by typo's in advertising?

I'm thinking specifically about a certain little ad window that has been on the Cow for months. In fact as i type this - its right next to my text entry window.

I can't comment on the product, it looks pretty good but its winding me up with its blatantly incorrect spelling! If you insist on having a typo - please don't flash it to attract my attention

Fibremax / Promax - please take note....simultaneously has two l's. Not one.

I think i'd better have a good strong caffeine infusion before i do any more today....

how about in signs

What gets me even more than printed advertising is signs on the side of buildings with incorrect spelling or grammer. The most common mistake seems to be misuse of the apostrophe. For example, DVDs is the plural of DVD. DVD's is the possessive, such as the DVD's case was lost...etc.

In my town growing up was a business called Car Wash Pros, which had a car wash and detailing service. They spent the money on having the front end of a 1987 Mustang sticking out the front of the building, then had a big sign reading Car Wash Pro's.

Anyway, what seems to be even more common is basic typos in newspapers, which are of course turned out on a daily basis. No editor has the time to read every article before going to press.

It goes without saying that the web is full of bad spelling, worse grammar and lots of typos. I have found a few typos in my blog posts which I had better go correct!

Finally, I am amused when I find a typo in a work of fiction, like a James Patterson book for example. But I guess things slip through the cracks.

Good post, reelee gets yoo notising thingz.
