So this will be first year at NAB, any suggestions?

Greetings all. So a big thanks goes to Creative Cow for enabling me and my wife to attend to attend NAB for the first time. We're both really excited. My question to all of you is where we absolutely "must" go while we're there, well, other than the Cow Booth .Smile

Most of my work has been for my own personal projects using mostly After Effects and Premiere, and my wife is in casting at Nickelodeon. I'd imagine that I'll have no shortage of things to grab my attention, but any professional advice would be great.

First of all, wear comfortable shoes

And refrain from picking up all the brochures. By the end of each day, you will be wiped out! (There's a reason why the shuttle bus doesn't go anywhere but around the Convention Center itself. This thing is huge!)

Look over the vendor maps and try to plan your show by geographic regions. Most all of the post vendors will be all in one area, so try to check them out first. Then you can make appointments for demos where you want more personalized attention. Then hit the rest of the show.

Other than that, follow your bliss. I like the projection systems area because you can just sit and watch movies and promos for a while, without having to talk or walk or do anything but experience it.

Remember to moo...

Laura is right: think shoes first. ;o)

Then pick your favorite areas, well, after you visit the Creative COW booth and moo -- a move that will entitle you to a free bottle of Bovine Bessie's Caribbean Style Chicken Sauce. (This alone makes the airfare (or gas, if you drive) worth the expense.)

Have fun while there, Paul.

Do Your Homework!!

I feel it's critical to know ahead of time what you're interested in, who are the vendors you want to see, what are the demos you want to see...

If you don't know this ahead of time, you will feel completely overwhelmed.

That said, relax and have a good time!  There's no way you'll be able to do everything, so stop worrying about trying to do *everything*.

My first NAB too!

Hey there. This is my first post on these new Cow Blogs.

I'll be attending my first NAB also. I'm only going to be there from Sunday-Tuesday, but hopefully I'll be able to get a lot out of it. I can't wait! Hope you have a good time too.
