COW Magazine #13 is at the printers and it's a cooker

The new issue of the Creative COW Magazine is at the printer and will soon be arriving in the mail for those in the United States who have opted for the hardcopy edition. For our international members, we will shortly have our PDF editions added to the magazine website for downloading. You will not want to miss this issue as Tim Wilson has sought out a great body of guest writers for this edition -- doesn't he always? -- and it will give you a window into a world of production that maybe you have never explored before. We are calling it the Games Issue but don't let the title fool you, this is definitely not kid's stuff. This issue is one that is filled with ideas, techniques and inspiration -- drawn from a market that has the music and movie industries drooling at numbers that dwarf those other two major entertainment markets.

Give us a day or so to decompress and you will find the new issue in the Magazine website.

Congratulations, Tim. You did another masterful job on this one. I am proud to work with you and ride shotgun on this journey.

have I ever seen grown women playing video games?
by Mike Cohen on Mar 24, 2009
Not yet, but recently my mom asked me what I know about the Wii - she and Dad are thinking about getting Wii fitness to, er, get some fitness going! Good for them.
At least you can't use your video game console to hang laundry like I do with my exercise bike. Looking forward to the issue.
A thing of beauty
by Tim Wilson on Mar 23, 2009
I'm always amazed to watch these issues come together. I have an idea that the stories are going to be good, and in the case of this issue, I knew that the stories were going to be something that most people wouldn't expect. The real pleasure was finding myself surprised as I learned the details of the work that Cow members are doing.

Along those lines, this is an issue you can indeed start to judge by its cover. Of COURSE women play video games - yet I'll bet a bale of hay that you've never seen a picture of two grown-up women doing just that. It's also a cover that's not chock-a-block with headlines for specific articles. We often do that, but this time, the story is: GAMES.

The cover is one example of Ron's remarkable design throughout this issue. Wait'll you see this thing -- even the ad layouts are a work of art.

What's that you say? Beautiful ads? Yes, and not just because they make possible a magazine with actual PAGES...increasingly rare, as we've seen magazines like Who?-dio shed pages as they wither down to literally nothing.

This is fun, fun, fun.

And wait'll you see the NEXT issue.

In the meantime, another masterpiece from the master, Ron.
