Tip: Use NTFS drives on a Mac OS

I purchased my first Mac in January of 2007 and have always been dissapointed (shocked, really) that the Mac OS refuses to write to NTFS formatted drives. However, as of yesterday, I am no longer dissapointed, thanks to Paragon's NTFS for Mac utility.

I tried editing files over an NTFS drive via that utility and worked like a charm and purchased the product instantly. Highly recommended and 5 cows!

The company that does it right: Apple

Yes, an Apple post...

In times when technology is changing every second, it is hard to find a company that does a good job, in terms of customer service and customer retention. Today, one day after the iPhone price reduction, Apple CEO, Steve Jobs wrote this letter:

http://www.apple.com/hotnews/openiphoneletter/

To sum up the article: Anyone who purchased the iPhone prior to the $200 price drop will get a $100 store credit, retail or online.

Even though I don't own an iPhone, I have to say that I am excited about companies that still treat their customers this well and focus on customer relations.

Congratulations Apple!

CS3 Launch Party

March 27th marked the biggest releases in Adobe history: 13 new products and multiple suites, including the Adobe Master Collection, which includes almost every piece of Adobe software. Adobe held their launch event in NYC where they invited the public to see what's new and I just have one word to sum up the event - WOW! it was done very, very well.

The event started off by getting your badge, meeting other people and then led into the presentations. The CEO and COO along with many other Vice Presidents from Adobe were present at the event and it was great to see the people behind the company.

Also present were members of the Adobe team that you may be aware of: Bob Donlon, Steve Kilisky and Simon Hayhurst.

A few others that were present were: Brian Maffitt from Total Training, Scott Kelby, Dave Cross and Matt Klowsky from NAPP and some of the well-known Photoshop/Lightroom people.

I am guessing this party will be elevated to an even higher level at NAB, where Adobe plans to demo the entire new product line! So...stay tuned for exclusive coverage about CS3, from NAB and from people that make Adobe what it is.

YouTube Awards

YouTube announced that it will be handing out awards to some of the more popular videos posted on it's site. Because of its success, it is a surprise that it took so long for someone to organize such an event.

Read CNN Story

Now, this is content-generation and social-networking at its best.

Reusing images

Looks like CNN should really start using relevant images on their webpages.

Take a look at this news-story about Microsoft and lawsuits. http://money.cnn.com/2007/03/20/technology/microsoft_alcatel.reut/index.htm?section=money_latest

And, then refer to the images used by CNN. How does Nokia fit into the entire picture?

Taking 'user-generated' content a little too far

Looks like McDonalds has an entirely different meaning about 'user-generated' content. Take a look at this CNN report.

As I have started writing about new-media and such similar topics, the following trends have always been apparent:

  1. Company is desparate to get into new-media marketing.
  2. Company thinks of a completely wacky idea.
  3. Company fails in marketing endavor.

Want further proof? I posted this article on my blog a few weeks ago.
